The gardens of historic residences in Montagnola open up to music

Once again, music blossoms in one of Montagnola’s historic gardens – this year in the century-old park of the Hotel Bellevue, which once welcomed renowned guests such as Igor Stravinsky and Sergei Diaghilev. Hermann Hesse himself loved to meet friends here, including Hans Purrmann, Thomas Mann, and Peter Weiss.
At nightfall, the melodies of the brilliant brass quintet Pucela Brass will resonate, performed by five young and highly talented Spanish musicians. The program features a refined blend of classical works, such as Viktor Ewald’s Quintet op. 5, evocative arrangements, and pieces inspired by cinema and Latin American rhythms.
To mark this extraordinary evening, the Hermann Hesse Museum Montagnola will remain open until 11:00 p.m. in a special candlelit setting, offering visitors an intimate and immersive night-time experience. The "White Night" will also include brief solo performances by young masters from the Ticino Musica masterclasses.
Following the concert, a celebratory toast will be offered on the piazzetta in front of the Museo Hermann Hesse Montagnola.
