Welcome! © Museo Hermann Hesse Montagnola

An experience for the whole family

Sunday 17 May 2026 · Museo Hermann Hesse Montagnola

For International Museum Day, we invite you to enjoy a day filled with free experiences. Join our flash guided tours in Italian and German, where expert guides will introduce you to Hermann Hesse and the key themes of his work. Families with children can explore the poet’s world through specially designed educational materials that offer a playful and engaging approach. On this day, visitors can also explore the new temporary exhibition on Isa Hesse-Rabinovitch, offering a multifaceted view of the life and work of the artist, daughter-in-law of Hermann Hesse.

As part of this year’s international theme, Uniting a Divided World, visitors discover which character from Hermann Hesse’s works they resemble most. Hesse created a wide range of deeply different characters, each embodying their own paths, doubts, and insights. It is precisely in their diversity that their unifying element emerges: each of these figures contributes, in its own way, to a deeper understanding of the human experience and opens new perspectives on one’s own self.

Admission to the Museo is free throughout the day, as are the guided tours.

Short guided tours: in German, 11.00 and 14.30; in Italian, 11.30 and 15.00

Registration is not required
