The gardens of historic residences in Montagnola open up to music
Friday 5 September 2026, 20.00 · Villa Gilardi, Via Minigera 1, Montagnola ♿
From 21.00, White Night · Museo Hermann Hesse Montagnola
For the third consecutive year, a splendid historic garden on the Collina d’Oro becomes the natural stage for an evening of music. This year’s concert takes place in the park of Villa Gilardi – exceptionally open to the public – the very place that in 1937 inspired Hesse to write the collection In einem alten Tessiner Park and to paint two watercolours dedicated to its elegant pavilion.
At dusk, this garden, steeped in history, transforms into a vibrant space of music and atmosphere. Under the direction of Yuram Ruiz, the Orchestra Giovanile della Svizzera italiana performs Camille Saint-Saëns’ Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Symphony No. 25 in G minor.
On this occasion, the Museo will remain open until 23.00, inviting the public after the concert to an intimate and atmospheric candlelit visit. The White Night is accompanied by performances from some soloists and small ensembles of the orchestra. After the concert, refreshments on Piazza Camuzzi in front of the Museum offer a convivial moment.
Registration by 28 August 2026 (Attention: limited places – registration order is decisive).
